I just love cornsnakes
I picked this boy up a few days ago. I have an idea about what he can be, but I want to see what you guys have to say. After a few post, I will tell my idea and what the parents are.

makes me think Terrazo stripe for some reason.

*edit* Double checked, and yes. It is definitely a Terrazzo. Go me remembering the look of an obscure morph! *flex*

he doesn't have any checkers on his belly.
I doubt he is terrazo, I don't think you find that in Europe yet.

Actually, Tania, if you look up Ian's Vivarium's morph guide... Your snake could be the one pictured for Terrazzo on that website. It is a very old gene, was discovered in the early 90s.

The mother is a candycane motley and the father is a het. ghost bloodred. This was the only one in the clutch. The rest are normals and 1 ghost, so mom is also het. ghost.
My idea was a very nice hypo stripe or a (hypo) bloodred stripe.

@Shiari: he definatlly looks like a terrazo, but I doubt he is one, if you see the genetics of the parents.

Regardless of what he actually is - he is definately a fantastic looking snake. I know I would love to have him and test him out against a few things. Good luck with him and I hope you keep us updated on his progress!

He's absolutely GORGEOUS! He most definitely needs some test breedings to nail down his exact genetics.

How unique he looks so much like a terrazzo and that grey head make me think blood red the parents genes throw me though-congrats!!

From the Looks of the parents I would say that it looks like your candy cane is probably a motely het striped and the Ghost blood has to bet het striped and amel. So I am thinking a Striped Hypo amel but he has so much white speckle all through the body. Another corn snake that resembles this guy a little would be a Cinder amel. I dont know anymore. It is just a stunning snake.

I agree 100%. On first site. With no checking.

Only because I spy on beautiful european snakes in my spare time. And there ARE some. :D

Watch me be wrong......D'oh!!!

I was thinking something along this. Has the appearance of a vanishing stripe.

Terazzo???? :shrugs:

I agree with Susan. Keep as a keeper and do some test breeding to nail it down.

I was thinking that too but thought maybe they where darker. Was also thinking of Cider

Is it a vanishing stripe?

Nah, the one on Ian's vivarium looks identical to the snake owned by the OP. The genes have got to still be out there, just floating around mostly hidden.
