Alpha finally ate!

I just wanted to let everyone know that my baby corn snake, Alpha, finally ate. He hatched on August 7, and has been refusing to feed. After trying everything, including force feeding him eggs through a plastic syringe, I was ready to give up. And today, I figured I'd give him one more chance to eat a pinkie, and he finally did! He's tiny, so the pinkie is really bulging out. Here's a picture for everyone. I'm just so excited!

Congrats. That snake sure is small, do you know its weight?

Don't know the weight. I'm going to get a scale soon. But that pinkie you see in his belly is a pretty small. He's about as big around as a pencil, and somewhere between 7 and 11 inches long. He's a bit too twitchy to measure.

omg that is such great news...leave him alone and let him rest.
my goodness congratulations. Take a deep breath out and get some sleep.

Huge congratulations! I know from personal experience how great it feels when a non-feeder finally eats for the first time. Good for you for being patient and working with him. I hope he never turns down a meal again! :dancer:

Congrats!!! And hey at least he is not as skinny as one of my new babies that I just got it is probably 3/4 the diameter of a pencil and it was a feeder!

Good news. He shed, he pooped, and he looks fine. Just weighed him, and found out just how tiny he is. He's only 7 g.
