Having snake racks with cats

Nanci, is that a Pixiebob? (I'm not that familiar with them, but that would be my guess).

I'm going to caution anyone about having Bengals with snakes (unless you keep the snake room off limits (ie: door closed) to the Bengals.
They love high places, love to get into anything & everything. They're very stubborn...LOL

Whoa, I missed that link; gorgeous cat! I love those exotic wild looking breeds. My favorite is the Savannah, I would love to own one some day. Bet they're a handful, though, I'd need more space for it to run around in I think.

Space is good, but you could also have 2, to keep each other entertained when you're not there, &/or get a cat wheel. Looks like a big hampste wheel, but Bengla & Savannah owners often use it. My female Bengal uses the cat wheel every day.

Eh, I've tried that cat scratch proof screen. My cat found the edges and chewed/tore it up. Your best bet would be wire mesh, sold as hardware cloth (seems like a weird name to me, but whatever). The cat can't scratch or chew through that stuff.

This the problem I have with cats and snakes racks.

That's my fat cat, Hot Foot, hanging out on the lower tub space. I keep it open for him because he "baby sits" all the snakes and will attack the other cats if they get too close. He also gets in the slot when it storms, but only after he does a visual check on each snake in it's tub. It's really funny to watch while he looks after the snakes like a mother hen.

I need to get some pictures up of my rack. It can pretty much used pipe brackets and dowels to keep them out.

Our cat keeps an eye on the snakes as well. He's never bothered them when they're being handled, though I'd never entirely trust hum of course. He's never far from where I am. At feeding time, however, he's has to be in another room. I left a mouse in a feeding container once and went to get the snake. When I came back, no mouse in the container and one happy looking kitty!

This is an older pic of my rack but my 2 cats cant get to the snakes. The tubs are tight(not to tight) to the top and bottom. Since this pic I added more shelves and more tubs, all the way to the bottom.

What you cant see is the plexi-glass top to the cage after the cat went through it a few years back.
