Update (Been a while)

Below are my two babies.

Cruella is approximately 9 months right now and was purchased back in July of 13' from Vinny Ferraiolo, of Off the Ark Reptiles in Midlothian, Va. She hatched out sometime back in April of 13'. She is a simple Anery. Just starting to show the yellow coloration behind her head and down the first part of her body.

Leoric is my Golddust Bloodred from Mr. Mitchell Mulks here on CS.com. I got him this past fall (October). He hatched roughly late July according to records. He's about 5 - 1/2 to 6 months at this point. A runt, but a voracious eater and typical wanna be bad a$$ male.

Both have elevated my addiction to new kind of levels this first year and have me looking at my next purchase here this spring sometime. Either a Miami or a Hypo Lavender. We shall see.

Sorry about the camera quality. All I have is my cell phone. They don't really do the two justice, but it's the best I can get on a dime. Going to have one of my photography buddies get their one year shots when the time comes later this spring/summer.

Without further ado I present to you, Thing One, and Thing Two!!!

Update (June 10th, 2014)

These pics didn't come out amazing by any means as I was in a hurry to get two cages cleaned, both snakes fed, dinner made, lunch for my kid's school done for next day, his homework started, laundry... you get it, haha. Dad of the year award!

Anyway, I did manage to use my camera's mutlishot function to try and get at least a couple of perspective pics of the growth the last five plus months for both scale babies. Managed these shots.

I know, the fuzzy is a bit larger than prob preferred for Cruella, but it was fully thawed and the only one in the bulk bag I had left. She managed to get it down fine as she has been and is a happy camper right now with a full belly, haha.

Leoric is really starting to see his colors blend a lot more at this point, and the diffused gene is really showing. Really happy with his progress. Cruella has a LOT of yellow in her now starting at below her head for a good couple - few inches down her body. Unfortunately, the pics don't capture it. I am having a friend with a professional camera shoot them sometime this fall for next update. So, those will be indicative of their growth and progression.

Cruella is now a yearling and then some as her bday came in April. Leoric will be approaching yearling stage next month and will be on two pinks per feeding shortly. He has had two a couple prior times, but they were smaller ones that were runts in the bulk bag I had. He's getting there though.

Anyone know if I should transition Cruella to two fuzzies next stage or go straight to the hoppers or whatever the next transition would be? Either way, it's still going to be a while.

They're beautiful!

That fuzzy definitely does not look too large for Cruella. However, once she's past pinkies, I wouldn't feed her double prey items. Once she's ready to move up (which is up to you, but I think she could move up pretty soon), then go straight to hoppers. If it makes you feel better, you can slit the back of the mouse to help her digest. Sometimes I do that for the first feeding of a new size.

Leoric looks like he could be on fuzzies, as well.

Thanks Hypno. I just always get anxious when I move them up in size. I will follow your advice on the food size/meals when it's time for her to move up.

Mitchell, I not once have regretted the purchase of that snake. Leoric is everything I have expected him to be. A little slower growing than Cruella, but he is a garbage disposal when it comes to eating. And his reaction to F/T on tongs is absolutely wild, he coils every meal (even though there is no need) and eats so much quicker than Cruella did at that size.

Really happy with my two cornsnakes and am contemplating a third in the near future. Though, that will depend on funds through spring and how much room I can clear in the place for another viv and snake. May be time to consider a rack system soon enough.

Ps Hypno: I have been on the fence about that the past couple of feedings, but have been looking to do the same transition Cruella did (two pinks a meal for a month). That will begin this week.

May transition a bit sooner depending on how he does the first two feedings.
