Hi all

Just to introduce myself here. I’m from the UK Wales. I have two 5-6 year old corns, which were given to me from a client where I work. Both have very different personalities

They are kept in a 5ft x 4 ft x 2 ft wooden viv, please before we have the long old discussion about the should not be kept together. I have spoken to a vast number of people about this over and over and got “information” reptile veterinary surgeon's people who worked on reptile documentaries within the UK and these have said that this is fine. Due to the fact they have always been kept together (prior to myself having them) from 6 months old.

I have had these for over two years now and not had a problem. Just the odd feed refusal due to shedding and burmentation last year and this year this year been a little long so far due to weather conditions no matter what the temperature is this happens, even from history from previous owners

They both had their 2 monthly MOT this week and everything is fine holding weight fine one 0.567 grams and the other 0.453 grams.

Just going to upgrade my heat lamp along with heat mat (both controlled by thermostat)to make more efficient, as here when weather conditions change quick i notice the thermostat on a lot at night.
Just a note the temp right at this very moment is 84 F on hot end and 75F cool.
Hope to hear some constructive comments for all of you.
Ps I understand some of you are still thinking KEPT TOGETHER, however as I have said i have spoken to people and read post about the matter within this website forum and taken everything into account
:sidestep:

Hi there and Welcome :D and just for your information, we LOVE pictures here, so when you get a minuet post some for us please :D

Another UKer, great :)

If you have assessed all the info and decided to keep them togather I won't try and change your mind. After 5-6 years it would be a great shame if there were suddenly a problem, good luck!

My only comments would really be do you need a heat lamp as well as a mat (particualrly if you're upgrading the latter anyway)? And if you're measuring temperature with a probe then great, it can be difficult keeping the warm side in the mid 80s when it's so cold over here!!!

You must mean 0.567kg / 0.453kg? Lovely! Pics please! :D

was thinking that about using the both. at the moment i mainly use the heat lamp, but connected up the heat mat for the past 2 weeks as been quite cold here. however they still not interested in the warm end.

so considering i got habistat pulse thermostats what size mat/model u think i should get. will leave the lamp in for back up etc.

also how would i upload a photo on to the site?

well if you would like to upload to this thread

1. Click "Post Reply" on the left right under the last comment. (NOT the post quick reply)
2. Scroll down the page till you see the "manage attachments" button click that
3. The manage attachment window will open
4. brows and upload the pics you want
5. be sure to click upload
6. minimize the window.
7. you should see the pics listed in the attachment area
* you can preview your post before you post it. I highly recommend doing so.
8. when you see the pictures in the preview of the post, close the manage attachments window and hit reply.

Hope that helps :D See what I do for pictures lol

It's really belly heat that's ideal for them (for digestion), they don't bask like some reptiles do. It's totally up to you, but if you're getting a new mat anyway, I'd ditch the light.

Yes beautiful corns, a Normal and a Miami Phase, I believe :D Glad you figured out how to post the pics ;)
