Uniformly Enforced Rules and Regulations?

Oh and just a look inside the actual situation. In my dads neighborhood snakes are demon spawn. They are killed all the time. This snake had been caught by a neighbor who decided he would call me over. He said he would kill it if he saw it again so I took it home where she will never be hurt. I don't care if you have a little tantrum like a 3 year old but if she can be used to educate 1 person just 1 child or adult that now has a new appriciation for snakes I am satisfied!

I am inclined to agree with this. Whether or not it was reported, calling someone immature is really not worthy of an infraction in my opinion.

Since you're assuming we'll all be using what you think should be point worthy or not as the measuring rod, would you please be so kind as to post a simple sticky or something so that we know what will and will not be infractable in the future.

That seems to be a very antagonistic response, she was not forcing her opinion on anyone, just stating it.

Umm, wilomn, I think she was just agreeing with him, not trying to enforce her opinion as law....

It's okay, folks. Wes feels compelled to personally respond to every post I make in a contentious thread to point out how wrong I am because I disagree with his own personal view of the universe. I've gotten used to it. Seems some people believe that the only opinions worth expressing are ones that agree with their own-- thankfully our mods here and the site owner do NOT believe that this is the case!

I don't know Lauren, that might be a little harsh. I have always found Wes to be a friendly and agreeable kind of a guy.

I wanted to vote this for the quote of the week..... http://www.cornsnakes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=99297&highlight=bong+shop

Sorry this is a little off topic!!!

In light of additional evidence provided by CrousesCorns, I withdraw my previous assertion for quote of the week and vote for this one. I'm going to look into converting my controlled substance scale to a snake scale, too. Does anyone know the best way to clean cocaine out of all the nooks and crannies of the thing?

Lauren I don't think you should clean it. A little white dust on your pinkies will put a little spring into your snake's step.

As it was explained to my by one of the mods there are 7 words you cannot say on Television. Those same words are unacceptable here.
Unfortunately that rule of thumb only works in puritanical America...
All words can be used on British TV and none are banned.....
So do I get a special dispensation due to lack of UK censorship.
I ******* well hope so.

Mike, I asked this unnamed mod if he could provide me the list and he declined. The only one I know for sure is the one I used to describe feces. There are others that I can guess. I don't know how to say this politely but you do know this is America, right?

I do... :nyah:
Thats why I only say things on the main boards I wouldn't be ashamed to say to my mother....
I just figured the TV rule wouldn't work on Brits...... You should see our kids TV... Makes Howard Stern look angelic..... Not really..... LOL

Anyone ever heard the American country song "Courtesy of the USA" by Toby Keith? It's about the 9/11 terrorist attacks and there is a line that goes "This big dog will fight if you rattle his cage ... we'll but a boot in your a**, it's the American way..."

For the longest time the country station I listened to would replace the a-word in that song with the sound of a gun being fired. Apparently the a-word is offensive but shooting a weapon is not. I never got it.

Just today, though, I heard that song and it actually was the intact version. And yet yesterday I heard a Rodney Atkins song where "working and laughing and busting our a****" was changed to busting our backs. It's really awkward in the song and now I am perplexed as to why Toby is allowed to say it, but Rodney isn't.

Censorship is very confusing... and honestly if it's "for the children," well I can tell you that they hear way worse than that in school every day. My sister teaches second grade (that is 7-8 year olds for those of you across the pond) and one of her boys brought her a note the other day that another boy had passed her which said "I hate you mother ******" with the f-word written there plain as day.

I'm not saying it's an excuse for all of us to talk trash here or anywhere, but kids do hear this stuff... it's practically unavoidable unless you keep them in a bubble.

Sorry for the long rant... but it's an interesting topic.

I'm surprised the euphemism for a person born to unmarried parents occurs so often in the forums. I could do without that, personally.

I couldn't agree more. There are many words allowed on the forums now days that I could do without, but obviously thats just my opinion and the majority doesn't feel the same way. In personal forums I don't care but the public forums here I think some restraint could be used by some.

As soon as text speak or excessive swearing appears in a post I switch off... I can't be doing it. As for the topics in personal forums, I think they should be moderated the same as the main boards as they can be viewed by anyone..
