Heck, there's a reptile store here with 3 fairly large ones that were confiscated by someone and placed at the store--they are also a certified sanctuary, and those animals aren't sold. They're used for educational displays at public venues.

First time I ever got close to one was about 5 or 6 years ago at a reptile show. The alligator was about 4' long, with its snout taped shut so that people could come up ant pet it. I was amazed that such an armored-looking creature actually have soft skin in between all of those knobbly bits :).

Impressive!

Didn't know Chinese alligators were legal to own anywhere...CB/B, I assume?

Good looking little beast...what kind of personality can you expect? Docile like an American gator or nasty like a caiman?

Chinese Alligators? Or American? There are less than 2,000 alive. I'm sure a confiscated pair would have gone to a zoo. Lucky if they are, not to many have seen these guys.

This is a male (female not at show) on loan to this facility for breeding purposes. He was right at 4ft and full grown. He was very docile, no tape on his snout.
