You kidding, or are you serious?Doesn't look like Alabama to me? Is that just outside Ozark or Dothan?
Great pics, Chris.
It is weird that they would be named the Alabama Hills. Probably some cool native american word with a really cool meaning.
According to Wikipedia(I know, I know...), they were named after a Confederate war boat, the CSS Alabama. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CSS_Alabama
This is just outside Lone Pine, California. Not sure how or why they were named "The Alabama Hills", but they are at the feet of the Eastern Sierra, specifically, Mt. Whitney.
This is where John Wayne and Clint Eastwood filmed their most famous westerns. This is the home of "Iron Man" and "The Incredible Hulk". This area has been the backdrop for more spaghetti westerns, military maneuvres, and modern action flicks than I could even begin to count...
Don't forget science fiction, many distant worlds were really Alabama Hills. The only good part of living in Independence was getting to play in the Hills (besides the haunted house I stayed in). I wish I got a chance to explore more or go to the ocean side of the state. I lived in California for seven months and never saw the beach.
I was kidding BTW. LOL.
