but I'm not sure if prohibiting abortion, so they end up with multiple children they have to take care of or give up for adoption is the best way to go for the children.
Isn't this the way it used to be? And women kept dying because of shotty back door garage type work that left them permanently damaged? I personally would rather see them going to doctors that know what they are doing, than getting themselves killed because they went to someones garage and have a cloths hanger used on them...
I personally do not agree with most abortion, I think that using it as contraception is wrong. But, I understand why women would want it was a choice. I doubt I will ever be a completely pro-choice person, but I do believe that there is a place for abortion (and it most likely has to do with my religious upbringing and the affect I saw it had/is having on my brother and his wife).
Though, I do believe that women and men should be able to get themselves "fixed" if they want to, no matter what age. That is a choice that I will stand by, we have too many people on this planet as it is, and if that person ever decides that they want a child, they can adopt one of the many children that do not have parents. Though, most people who I know that want to be "fixed" do not ever want children anyways.
I say, do not force those who do not want children, to have children... Now, even if someone does get an Abortion (David this is for you) It is still a choice that they have to deal with their whole life. There are some people that it does not bother much, but, I know a couple of people who have had abortions, and the mental issues they have now are insane. And, it all goes back to their aborted children.
Also, one of the people I know is over 90 years old. She recently told the church what she had done and how it has haunted her ever since. But, she was 13 when she got pregnant and terrified about what would happen to her if people were to find out that she was pregnant.
I also knew a girl that was raped at 12 by her cousin, she kept the child and loves the child. She did not have an abortion, due to religious reasons, and has said that she would not even if she could go back and relive the nightmare.
