Here's a shot of the big girl and the male. Using it. Offered her food again yesterday, which she refused. She's normally absolutely nuts around feeding time, her dinner doesn't even hit the floor before she's got it usually, catches it mid air... to have her refuse shows me she's likely gravid...
Hatchlings... Bad season, no idea what really happened... Temps where right, humidity was right, somehow I only had 4 make it full term out of the 9 good eggs I got... Apparently it's been a pretty crappy season for a lot of retic guys, hopefully next clutch turns out better..
Higher success rate of hatching them all, sometimes they drown in egg, so to prevent that - we cut them.
It's rare, most people honestly cut them. Some cut as soon as day 74 without problems. I cut at 80. They are due out on day 84.
Yes, they come out when ready. Rarely does anyone have complications with this method. Most of the damage from cutting comes from people who rush it, or do it wrong. As long as you're careful it ends up fine.
C-sections for snakes? You had 9 eggs and have 4 babies. Did the other 5 eggs develope? If so, were the babies alive when you cut the eggs? Honestly just curious, human babies born through c-section can have higher incidents of health problems. The squeezing during vaginal birth is beneficial in clearing airways and stimulating circulation. Does working themselves out of the egg stimulate any functions in snakes?
Hatchlings are all shed out. I completely missed the poss het on the supertiger, but such is life.... I've bred several species, and this has been by far the most rewarding and challenging project I ever tackled... This was my very first season trying to produce these guys, and even just being tigers- I'm extremely proud to say I produced these.... Growing up seeing all the pictures of tigers, the first and original morph to start it all- to producing them in my very own home... It's a humbling experience and I'm very proud of these guys!
Had them settled in a few days now, going to try food tomorrow, lets hope the aren't finicky eaters!
Big Tiger poss het albino looking absolutely MASSIVE. I'm pretty sure I witnessed an ovulation, it wasn't nearly as obvious or visible as the het girl I bred this season- due to her sheer size and weight... Now just waiting on the shed... She's been off food right around 3 weeks now, male has locked multiple times, sitting on the hot side non stop... Just waiting for a shed now and hopefully she'll toss me a few inverts and let me know.... I'm hoping she took!
13-14' tiger 66% PH Albino/Stripe. Still zero interest in males, tried both my white phase 66% PH stripe and my super, just thrashes her cage around and refuses them, eating like a horse though, this is after roughly 8lbs of rabbit in her, looking big and putting on size! Hopefully she goes this season!
