Dubai has been doing this for a long time.
Also, if you are drinking alcohol in public and the police decide that they don't like you for one reason or another, they can imprison you and beat you either to death, or near death and there's nothing you can do about it.
They just did that recently to an English business owner.
I was going to have to travel to Dubai a few weeks ago, and this is one of the reasons why I was trying to avoid it.

Thankfully, I do not. One of my co-workers ended up going.
It IS a cool place to see, and there are many things I would like to see there.
Granted, it isn't too common for things like this to happen, but the fact that they CAN and DO scares me.
What can you do, it's an Islamic Nation that still follows some fairly ridiculous laws.
