Am I crazy???

Well yes. Kind of a complicated question to he honest. A cremecicle is a hybrid. So yes breeding one to a corn would just make more hybrids. Even if you were to make, say lavender hybrid from that pairing it would still be a hybrid. So it wouldn't be considered a lavender corn. However someone would probably come up with a new name for a snake with that make up.

But would it automatically be a root beer? Or would it just be a weird hybrid snake? LOL or does a root beer have to be the mix of rat snake and corn snake, first generation.. ?

I've had my baby corn for less than a WEEK..... love him to death, he is so cool, and chill and sweeeet! Am I crazy for already wanting another scalebaby??? :dancer:

I think I decided I want my next to be a Tequila Sunrise Snow.. sooooo gorgeous!! :crazy01:

Root beer is just the trade name for a normal colored emoryi*/corn snake cross, however much the cross is. Most of the rootbeers and creamsicles in the pet trade now probably have a good bit less than 50% *emoryi in them but will be considered a hybrid no matter how long ago the *emoryi was crossed into the lines. Creamsicle is the trade name for an Amel *emoryi/corn cross. So it is a hybrid as long as there is some other species in the mix, but it might be called something else if there is another morph gene at play, if for example someone bred a rootbeer to a lavender corn and then the offspring to each other, a number of those babies would express the lavender gene and might be called something else to distinguish them from their normal (rootbeer) colored siblings. Hopefully that made sense?

It doesn't matter the generation. As long as their is rat snake and corn snake blood it would either be a rootbeer or creamsicle if it is a amel aka albino.

If you are thinking about adding one in the near future I would contact Chris ASAP. ;) http://www.cornsnakes.com/forums/member.php?u=20528

Tavia I think you have your rats mixed up. Normal emoryi/corn crosses have been called rootbeers, black rat/corn crosses were named "Beasts" by a member who was working with them

Yeah, that's quite possible, I couldn't remember how to spell emoryi, thought black rat was the common name but it didn't sound quite right when I typed it out either.

That's what happens when you don't stop to double check things!

I may not have one left real soon ;)

LOL opps Man who is that nut ball that is clearing out all your babies?

He he he I was having the same issue so that is why I left it as just hybrid. Chris to save the day.

Crazy? Oh yes! Don't expect anyone here to help out with an intervention though, we're all enablers!
