Best shows around Ohio?

I'm looking to get a Dumeril's boa soon and will either get one from a show or breeder, but I like the show idea because I can handle the animals and no shipping costs! I've been to the Columbus show many times, and they usually only have 2 or 3 dums. Other options are Cleveland, Youngstown, or Tinley NARBC--which one is better? Is it worth it to drive 5 hours out to Tinley for a dum, or do they not have big enough of a selection?

Also, how do I pronounce "Dumeril's"? Is it DOOMeril's or DEMerils? I've done a lot of online reading about them over the past year, but I'm terrible with pronunciation. Lastly, I'm a minor, and I was wondering if a dealer would sell to me or if I'd need my mom there. She knows that I'm getting one and is fully supportive and excited, but also owns a business and doesn't really have time to take me to expos. I can drive btw. I'm 16, 17 in October, if that makes a difference. I just don't want to find the perfect animal and then not be able to get it! Thanks!

Check vendor list and make some contacts with perspective sellers. The Tinley show is huge. As a vendor myself, I will not sell to a minor without a parent or a phone chat with a parent. And lastly, DOOmerils.

Good Luck!

Terri

The Cin City show is good this time of year. Half of the vendors come down from the Cbus show, but the others are from Cincy, KY and IN. It's usually a decent mix of species.

No affiliation other than as a visitor; got to support herp shows to keep them going..

Show seemed to have fewer vendors - those that showed were same group as last show - but more public. Hope it can pick up, the guy with the corns, kings, and frozen mice has great prices and I'd hate to lose the show.

Next show close to Pittsburgh is the Steel City show on 10/13..
