Non-Corn Fall Find

CRAZY BOUT' CORNS !!
Well, here is another I can scratch off my "would like to find" list. Found this girl in the front garden just this afternoon while taking the puppy out for his potty.

NORTHERN PINE !!!

I have seen 2 DOR's since living here in NE Alabama, which has been around 7 years and I finally found a LIVE one. She is alot draker than the two DOR's, but still beautiful. The chill in the air must have her in a pretty good mood because I was able to pick this girl up with no problems at all. She didn't even get vocal like most pits do.

Just thought I would share a few pics. of this beauty !!

Nice Walter

That was the first snake I ever caught it was huge I was only 8 years old when I found it in a tree, it didnt bite or hiss either.I thought I was so tough everyone ran from me as I walked around with the snake wrapped around me:grin01:

Used to find northern pines up in Jersey when I lived in Maryland. They were generally pretty mellow. They were a joy to handle even when fresh from the wild.

Found some southern pines here in north Florida every now and again, and they would tear your arm off and beat you to death with it if they could. They've got no tolerance for human beings at all. I just leave them alone and tell them to go eat some squirrels to make themselves useful.

That's how this girl is Rich. Being my first, I'm very surprised at how gentle she is. I figured I was in for at least a vocal defense posture, but nothing at all.
She is actually very sweet.

I'm thinking her darker coloration is due to the begining or latter part of a shed cycle. The two DOR's I found were much lighter in color.
Gotta find a nice uninhabited area to release her though due to Alabama State protection on Northern Pines.
