After 32 days, he ate!

Elliot, my newest 2013 Cal king, finally broke his fast after 32 days. He had been hidden for days, so I was crossing my fingers that his first shed (with me) was coming. Sure enough I hear a racket in the aspen when I went in the room and he was shedding. I figured it would be a great time to try another pinkie in a little plastic cup, so I warmed one and put them in together (after the little bugger musked me, with what I don't know because he hasn't been eating!). I did wash it with Dawn and rinsed it well before giving it to him, too.

I checked maybe 5 hours later and he had a satisfying lump in his belly. YES!!!

And the crazy thing is no one really will get how excited it makes me. So that is why I share this here.

Yay!! Congrats! So glad he finally ate for you :D I've had a couple who went through a brief not-eating phase, and no matter how much you try not to worry, you always do a bit. But when you peek at them to see if they've eaten, and they have a nice plump belly, you just about jump for joy :dancer:

I often wonder what they must be thinking when they see us, the "two-legged monsters", get so giddy when we see they've eaten. They must think we are nuts! :crazy02:

woot!!!

that's awesome!
soo glad he ate for you, and its true we can't help but worry a little..

your happy, I'm happy! lol and he's FULL! ;)

Trust me. After all the feeding issues I went through with my last corn, I totally get how excited it makes you. Glad to hear the fast is broken!

Yes, we do go through crazy things for them. I was telling my husband about this, such as when he last ate, what I have tried, what I plan to try ... and he is probably thinking, why on earth do you go through the trouble?!

I read and follow other's stories and get excited for them when they have a success, too. :)
