He is a classic. Glad to hear he's a sweetie!
Please don't take offense, but you need to get a cover over that light ASAP. He will end up getting burned on an exposed bulb like that.
 
Lovely little snake :) I second what Alicat says - just to be safe! Don't want any burns. They are quite the little climbers though, aren't they?
