Life with Crescent

I've hatched a bunch of 4-5 gram babies and they have all done just fine. I just _like it_ when I hatch the big 10 grammers!!

If you make slits in the skin of the f/t pinky when you feed him, he'll digest faster/easier. That's what I do for my itty-bitties.

Starting week 4 of Crescents Regurge Protocol, He is doing what I call exceptionally well, he's eating and so far holding everything down (fingers crossed) I would love to see him grow, I'm worried about his size.

We are at the end of Crescent's 4th week of his Regurge Protocol Therapy (RPT) LOL, as I call it, and its been very successful so far, he isn't due to eat again until December 19th and this will be his first whole Pinky, but I did do a weight check of him today and his weight went up from 4.7g on Dec 12th to 5.2g today Dec 17th.

Its not leaps and bounds but its progress as far as I'm concerned.

Remember, it's okay to feed him an entire pink cut into two pieces :) He's little, so keep him on the tiniest pinks (reds) you can find.

Ok Thanks, I'm so scared to make him Regurge again, I have been cutting the pinky in half and then making many, many slits in its skin,

He would most likely even eat thirds! If he gets all sticky from the NB and the mouse juice, it's fine to run him under room temp water. They hate it for about twice, then couldn't care less. He won't regurge from a quick rinse on the way back to his viv.

I've had Crescent 34 days now, I clean his enclosure religiously, I realize hes a baby and very small (5.2 g) but I have yet to see any signs of pee, poop or shedding in his enclosure. He's eating fine now, temps and humidity are good.

<<scratching my chin>>

Well he had to go a little while with no food and then smaller than normal meals after that so his shed schedule is going to be off a little. They shed when they have outgrown their current skin size.

Baby poop is incredibly small and since Crescent is getting smaller meals his poop is going to be even smaller. It's probably just getting soaked up by the aspen, try switching to paper towel for a week or two. You'll be able to spot the poop better.

Or- stop worrying about poop. If he hadn't pooped in a month...he would be very ill, at least. Don't make me have to drag out the Everything Comes Down To Poo video!!

LOL, yes please don't, Ive seen it ! LOL

I just weighed him prior to feeding. If the scale is correct he lost 2/10 of a gram since last weigh in which honestly can be a scale error.

I fed him a whole small pinky that I split in half long ways and feed in two servings and he gobbled both halves up. Ill let him sit a few minutes to settle and then place him back in his main enclosure with a do not touch until the 22nd.

Crescents last weight prior to today was 5.2g on Dec 17th. He ate last on Dec 19th, his first whole Pinky since being put on Regurge Protocol and he held it down. I did a weight check on him tonight and he's at 5.9g. He was his usual self but he looks like he may be starting to go blue, its hard to tell because of his color.

I wasn't able to get great pictures of him tonight.

Just fed Crescent his second whole Pinky since we started him on the regurge protocol, his weight is up to 6.2 grams from 5.9, again not leaps and bounds but he is maintaining a slow but consistent progress.
