New Brooks King

That's the thing about kings I love so much! Garbage cans in the truest sense! Got a extra mouse? Don't wanna waste it? The king will eat it!!

Ha Ha, I love that, It reminds me of the old commercial with lil Mikey, "Give it to Mikey, he will eat it !

Rich, I will admit, after last nights experience, I'm a bit apprehensive about handling her now. Ill get used to it eventually I guess.

Just keep her well fed. I know for a fact these will get, not cage aggressive, but so they think that every time you open their viv, you're going to be feeding. They are just very hopeful that you will be. So they will fly out with their mouths open. To feed her, I'd get a big bin, like a 66 quart or something, or one of those tall Sterilites with the handle on top and the flip down latches. Get her out, handle her, before you even think about food. Then put her in the container, get the food out, and thaw.

And to remove her, next time, the easiest way is to put a dab of Listerine by her mouth. If you pry at her, she will just hold tighter.

So far she has released herself every time, I also heard if they don't release submerge in water, good? bad?

Oh wait, are you talking about when shes just holding on tight, not a bite?

Thanks for this, you are the best !!!!!!!

No- Listerine is for a bite. For just squeezing- I usually put my hand on the floor. I wouldn't submerge a snake in water.

To add to the excellent advice.....

Your movements are key. As with any snake, hesitation on your part only allows opportunity to the snake. Swift, confident moves on your part are best... Hesitate... You will get tagged! ;).

You might be about to feed her. She can't take the chance of looking away and missing it. This is what I see in my kitchen, all day and night!

I have her in my kitchen, near the table , its one of my warmer rooms and I love watching her, she right next to my Fire Belly Toad setup.

She seems much calmer today
