Hi Iv been told that corn snakes only grow to the size of the tank but I wanna know if this is true my corn snake is about 1 and a half yr old will he grow any more???

That is not true. Reptiles will continue to grow - albeit more slowly as they mature - throughout their lives. I've seen corn snakes that were 6 feet long. How big is the enclosure your snake is in now?

I have a five and three quarter footer ! But . . . dont know the URL ( http/ . . . ) and so cant post pics !

Typically they will grow to be between 3.5 and 5 feet, with some exceptions getting closer to 6 feet (although I haven't personally seen any that large). They can be anywhere from 350-750 grams in weight as adults.

A rule I like to go by is, if they can stretch out completely straight in their vive/enclosure across one length and one width combined, the enclosure is suitable for them. If they cannot, they need a larger vive. For corns, floor space is much more important than height as they are terrestrial. Some do use height if it is given though, but you still cannot supplement that for ground space.

OP, have you checked out the care sheet for corn snakes on this forum? :) It is awesome! Please do if you haven't already. Nice to brush up on some info.

All the best!

Sorry, to answer your question, YES your corn will continue to grow throughout it's entire life.

At 1.5 years I doubt it is full grown right now. If you are feeding it appropriately-sized food, you should see a steady increase in growth for awhile yet. As it gets years older the growing will slow down considerably, and may seem to stop - but it won't stop. A shed means the snake has grown. For example, instead of seeing a shed every 4-8 weeks as you would around your snake's age, at 5 years old the snake may only shed every couple of months or so.

What size of enclosure is your snake in now?

Hi thanks for all info given he is currently in a 4 1/2 - 5ft viv and he is 4 ft already how big would he actually get

I can't see any of the pics.

I have a 935g boy who I feed 1 large mouse every 14 days. His former owners (he was a rescue) fed him only baby rats which are VERY high in fat, not so much in nutrients.

Here is a great guide for corns, but I would take it lightly. Perhaps let the corn grow 5g more than the guide says to move up a size in prey.
