More Red Factor fun stuff!!

MysticExotics

(formerly NWHeather)
This RF male was produced by Matt Stewart (NWBloodlines), out of a Sunkissed Motley male, an a Cayenne Fire female (both of which are are here now).

This guy is full of all kinds of fun hets (Amel, Bloodred/Diffused, Sunkissed, Motley).

Beautiful snake. It's probably here somewhere, but could you explain the "Cayenne fire " part for me. Is that a red factor fire? or is the cayenne red different?

It is my understanding that Cayenne Fire is Fire + Red Factor. The Dam to this male is a Cayenne Fire, and the Sire is a Sunkissed Motley. I don't know how many babies ended up RF out of this clutch, but with RF being dominant, it confirms to me that is the case.

I think, but am not sure, that it may be RF that is in Sunglow's, as well. I read on Don's page that it's not just the lack of borders that makes it a Sunglow, but that there is an added red wash that makes it more saturated in coloring, that makes it a Sunglow.

Now that Tara (Tara80) will be able to devote more time to Cornsnake projects, we are going to be working on a few projects together again, including Red Factor stuff.

So if I understand correctly, RED FACTOR/MASK is the red wash on the ground zones between the saddles and RED COAT is a red wash over the saddles and the ground zone *entire snake*?
Joe P. mentioned that it may also be co-dom. WHOOT! :devil01:

I don't know as much about Red Coat, other that it is a recessive gene, Red Factor is dominant).
RF gives a wash (saturation) over the whole snake, not just the ground color. At least that's my experience, looking at Cinaed, his offspring and now this new male.

Good to know! Thanx..

You know...her daddy was het bloodred so I'll bet she is! I'll test her out later. :D

"They" say there are "no markers for hets", but I tend to disagree, I've seen a few things that lead me to believe that there can be markers for certain hets, Bloodred being one of them.

I agree with markers for diffused and a few others being pretty visible. I *think* the male I'm planning to pair her with next year is het diffused, maybe Shiari will pop in and confirm that for me. :D

Careful with that red stuff, if the authorities are ever at your place they might think that it's a bloody crime scene.
