Banning travel from Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia, where Ebola has struck the hardest, is not the solution, Frieden stressed. If that happened, it might prompt people to enter the U.S. in ways that make it more difficult to track them, he said.

So...he obviously has difficulty making decisions. Or the decision is not his to make.
And, yes, I have googled and read and read and read all the pros and cons.
I am sure the 40+ legislators in DC who are leaning toward a ban have weighed the pros and cons, too.
I think St. Lucia has joined Australia in decision-making ability.
These countries (who can make decisions, evidently) have done these things. Last updated 14 Oct 2014 :

Second nurse called CDC prior to flight home to report her fever and contact with Ebola Tom and was not told not to fly. :headbang:And back....

Apparently the airline is trying to contact all passengers on that flight, as she may very well have been shedding Ebola at that time.
Say what?????

?I personally wore N-95 masks in any room of any patient that I wasn't sure what they had....if they came in with fever, vomitting or cough I wore the N-95..not a regular mask. I could be sure that it would protect me from most anything. From what I understand, these medical personelle are wearing hazmat type suits...should be effective for something like Ebola....
Apparently Mr Frieden has never heard of Ebola Tom!?!? :headbang:So let me get this straight.... People in west Africa who would want to get to the USA via the regular commercial flights and could not would go through extreme measures to bypass the ban and get here undetected anyway. Yet those same people would not (in a million years) be inclined to take a common over the counter pain reliever to reduce fever nor lie on a form or verbally to someone about their being previously exposed to anyone with Ebola. Do I have that right Mr. Frieden?oke:
I was thinking my lava stipe needs a name.
EBOLA?
Nah.
