What is your ultimate snake?

If you could pick any snake to keep, what would it beWhat is on your "I wish", or "Someday" list?

For me, hands down, it is Morelia boeleni (Boelen's Python).
These are by far, my absolute favorite!

I had the honor of seeing one in person last summer, and let me tell you, I geeked out! LOL

Boelen's for me too! I may have to bite the bullet, and buy a farm-bred baby. Do you know if
anyone has successfully bred them in the states? I knew a couple of people who were working with them, but haven't heard if anyone hatched eggs. I think a guy in Chicago had an adult pair, but I thought I read on one of the forums that they were diagnosed with IBD, and euthanized.

Hands down the Bush viper! Species Atheris, I think there are 2 or 3 subspecies if I'm remembering right. We haven't completely ruled out ever owning a hot but it's not something we'd do any time soon, if at all. This would be the one I'd really love to have, but I'd settle for my second favorite viper, Bothriechis schlegelii, which is easier to get.

This is the Bothriechis schlegelii, Eyelash viper. Picture also from Google.

Gaboon viper, I saw one at the woodland park zoo in seattle and I absolutely fell in love. I am not willing to take the risk of owning one though, I will just continue to admire from afar. Took this photo at the zoo and I have it hanging in my room.

Although my husband likes the vipers I posted, his all time snake would possibly be a gaboon too.

White Lipped Python. Just a gorgeous and impressive animal

Favorite venomous, black mamba. Such a beautiful, agile and deadly animal

Marc Spataro hatched out some babies last year, and his female recently ovulated, so I think he's doing good for babies this year too.
Jason Baylin hatched out babies years ago, I believe.

A local friend of mine has a pair (the female pictured is his) and he struck out last year, I hope he manages to hatch out some babies this year.
If/when he hatches out some babies, I'm probably going to end up getting one. LOL
They are spectacular animals!

The Vipers are awesome, there are so many cool ones, but you wouldn't cath me with anything venomous, no matter how beautiful they are. (Even if they were legal here.) LOL

I have a couple friends with WLP's. Very pretty, with the iridescence.

I love mambas, but since we are supposed to list our ultimate snake we might actually keep, mine would be an albino green burm.

Hognose, Carpet Python and Brazilian Rainbow Python. Super common to everyone on the forum I know, lol, but sadly all three are banned here. :(

I'm really a corn snake & hognose guy. Potential scaleless mutations really excite me. A true piebald corn is one I've been waiting for. Leucistic mussurana is up there for species mutations that already exist.

Im boring... Corns is hands down my favorite for a list of reasons... don't think a lot of other snakes can compete.. sorry lol

BUT I would love a sunrised pied dilute diffused anery vanishing stripe... *whistles* WHO CAN COOK ONE FOR ME?

My ultimate will be an Olive python. And fingers crossed, I will get a male from the breeder of my sunset boa. Just waiting on the eggs to hatch around Memorial day (and save up!).

I held a 2014 when I was at her house recently and I fell HARD for them. So soft. So iridescent. The parents are just beautiful. Mom was still cooking eggs when I saw her so I wasn't able to handle her. This is the male and one of the babies from last year.

^^^^^Those olives are super cool. A friend of mine had a large one. Very pretty snakes. The color in those pictures remind me, a little anyway, of the sterling boas, which are awesome. Good luck with that one :)

I've never felt the desire to keep anything besides corns, but to me the cutest, and one I hope to someday see in the wild, is the smooth green snake. They are native to my area but I haven't found one yet.

They have special needs that must be met, but I think greensnakes are a wonderful and rewarding species. If I ever get a chance to buy some leucistic ones (which are said to be bright blue), I'll be all over them.

I want a purple sunfire retic, but not sure if I am ready for something so big. And the ship may be sailing soon.
