Hiya! I decided to do a progression thread of my new baby cornsnake Solis. His full name is Solid Liquid Solidus Snake but to shorten it, my sister said Solis and the name stuck.

So here is his stats so far:
Name: Solis
Nickname: Snake? Snake! SNAKE! (metal gear ref :fullauto:)
Morph: Albino Amel
Age: 2-3 months (approx)
Weight: unknown (for now...my nice gram scale decided to fall and break...)
Length: Unknown (for now.)
Food: 2-3 gram pinkies about to be moved up to small fuzzies

I was so happy! It was his first feeding with me today and he really took to a F/T pinkie! The place where I got him from said they fed live pinkies so I was a little nervous but he seems to be happy with the frozen ones. So happy! He ate it pretty fast too! Almost didn't get a pic of him eating it. Lol

Today I received my new gram scale and weighed Solis for the first time. He weighed in at 14g! He has been very calm lately and has taken to be handled quite well. Today I decided to let him run around the house and he seemed pretty inquisitive. He's so adorable!!

Congrats! He's definitely a cutie. Yeah, they are determined little eaters once they get going. Glad you were able to transition to F/T so easily. Love his name, too.
 
Thanks for the compliments from Solis and I! He had another good feeding today! He's been doing really well inside of his tub. This today he found that the paper towel tube was a good hiding place and slept there the entire day.

Hopefully, I'll be able to get to measure his length soon.

I'm really curious to see what size he is. I can't weigh mine, but it is also an Amel (of some sort) and I don't know her age or weight. So when I saw yours, I was hoping a length might help give me a clue to compare to.

Since I was gonna shoot for the Munson plan I needed the scale. I had one before to measure my beardie's weight but it fell off my counter one day and broke...

Anyway...um...I not even sure how to measure Solis. I was thinking of putting him in a box with graph paper underneath and using a formula to measure him. Only because he is really squirmy. :laugh: So any help there would be very helpful.

Thank you for the stats! I have recently (yesterday) learned my little one is right at 14in as well. Still don't know weight, but I'm guessing clos eto 14g as well. She's quite a bit paler but I can just start to see the orange spreading along her neck.
 
Alright! I weighed Solis today and found that he now weighs 16g! Woot! He's taken to the Munson plan pretty well. No rejected pinkies so far which is very good in my opinion.

I got him a larger water dish from my local Goodwill store which he seems to enjoy. By enjoy I mean, he now poops in it. :puke02: So while he is growing in the small sterilite bin that I have him on, I am working on converting his aquarium into a sliding glass tank. I looked up a video on YouTube and discovered one that seems pretty good and easy to do. Found the tracks online and the aquarium silicone seems easy to find. I even live close to a place that sells acrylic panels for relatively cheap. It'll be a good project. Just gotta think about the screen lid on top...

Also went to my favorite place in the whole world to grab more pinkies. I didn't realize how big they were until I drove off back home. Stopped at a stoplight and checked my items. These pinkies were pretty big compared to the other pinkies I got before. Kinda white but still no fur. Weighed them and they still came up as two grams. I guess I am just used to seeing the day old pinkies? Which are extremely pink and really small? I'll post a comparison later.

Sorry for the late response! Thanks for the compliments. Solis is growing up pretty quickly. Better start working on that tank project soon! Lol.

Anyway, Solis had found the wonders of my face and hair! Left him on the couch to explore and he slithers up my shoulder to my face. He didn't want to leave my hair either!

^^He's been a rather inquisitive little snakey. He did find the wonders of my pony tail. Lol

Whew! Finally some downtime from school. Lol! Anyway I weighed Solis and found his is now a whopping 19g! Woot! His colors are a bit dull and he's been hiding pretty much all day. Haven't seen him slither around anywhere...so my guess is he is going to shed pretty soon. Another woot!!

Fed him in his old deli cup and the silly guy ate with half his body outside of it. :laugh:

Hi again! So I am here to update my little noodle. His new stats are:

Weight: 23g
Length:( According to serpwidgets) 1ft 8in
Prey items: two pinkies every 5days
Pretty neat seeing them grow larger. Also I may have a ball python on the way sometime in October but that's a maybe right now.

Solis explored my living room more, under supervision, and he seemed rather curious about my shoes. He seemed to like curling around the shoes laces and slithering in between the loops. It was very very cute!

So I haven't updated this in so long! Wow time passes by so fast! Anyway, Solis is doing great! He was upgraded to a bin because the cage I had him in....well...shattered during my recent move. So I am saving up for his permanent home.
