You all seem to have gotten better blood grades than me. I'm B-. I knew I should have paid better attention in hematology.

O+

I still remember typing myself back in high school in anatomy and physiology class. Somewhere, I've even still got the little test card with my blood droplets on it.

How is it that all of you know what your blood type is?? I have no freakin' idea what my blood type is. Should I?:bang:

It can speed up getting a transfusion if your blood type is known. If your a rare type, you have an opportunity to help people the more plentiful blood types can't.

I tested mine in science class in high school, had it printed on my dog tags in the navy, and donated platelets for years (until a bout of hepatitis put an end to that). They all agreed....

O Negative.

I give blood regularly, and it's on my donor card. I'm AB+, so only people who are AB+ can use my blood, but hey, every bit helps. :shrugs:

AB+ Chris, we know because we're blood donors. I'm in the bone marrow registry, too.

AB+ has the plasma that everyone wants- good for burn patients, etc.

I'm A+. And thanks for the reminder that I'm over-due to donate again. With the holidays coming up, it's a very crucial time to make sure that as many people as possible donate now.

A-

I sooo need to get my butt in & donate.

I found out my blood type 8yrs ago when I was pg w/ my son. Apparently if the baby is RH positive my neg blood will refuse the baby :shrugs: Go figure, so I had to take a shot for it, he is A- also, my daughters are A- & A+, Hubby has no idea what he's is, I would guess A+.
I wish he would donate :(

Since I work at a hospital, it's easy to donate. They just show up every eight weeks! So I get paid to go, and they have a drawing for 4 hours PTO. I won it once!

Plus, at the Gainesville Marathon, they have a drawing for a CAR, and you get one chance for every time you donated in the last year, and you must be present to win, so all the people who were there with fast runners have gone home by the time they do the drawing!
