Christmas Bairds for New Years

Mrs InsaneOne

I See Snakes...
Meet the newest members of the collection... They were a Christmas gift to um... I'm not sure who, both Tim and I have been wanting a pair for a while. I'm quite happy with both of them, they are even prettier then they appear in pictures and I can only hope they both develop the metallic sheen that I've seen on some bairds.

Un-named for the moment - but don't worry, they'll have names soon as we are trying to come up with a new theme for them.

Here's the female - not quite freshly shed!

Pics of the male in the next post!

And now the boy... he's the lighter of the two and he shed about a week ago. I'd just been waiting for the female to shed before posting pictures...

It appears that he's got a small bit of shed stuck on his nose - something I'd not seen when I first checked him after he shed. I've soaked him a bit and put some neo on it - if it is a piece of shed, I'll get it off asap.

Post sheds of the female coming up in a few minutes.

Ok, here's the pic of the female all fat and happy and freshly shed!

It's not the best of pictures, but I didn't want to disturb her too much and I didn't know the lens had a fingerprint on it until after I resized the picture. *sigh*

I just love baird's. I have a pair myself and its amazing to watch their amazing transformations. Who did you get these two from?

I look forward to frequent updates and they develop!

wow, in the 4th picture of your second post, i absolutely LOVE the rainbow-y, iridescent shine on the scales! it's quite hard to see that on my little snake, but it's delightful when the light hits the scales just right!

It was your pair that made me want to get some so bad! lol... I don't know who the original breeder of our two are - Tim picked them up from Amazon Reptiles (reputable reptile store that has had some awesome snakes for sale from time to time). They are 07's though, which is neat because I'll get to document the post shed changes each month as they grow.

I know exactly what you mean, you can see it in a couple of the head shots as well. I love capturing it on camera with just the right amount of light - makes them look out of this world - especially on our Potosi and the MBK.

Thank you both for the wonderful comments!

Jenn

I think I am a sucker for a pretty face.. Dayum..

They're gorgeous! I'm such a sucker for Bairdi and I love to see more people getting into them. Where did you get these?

A small local company had them, now we have them in quarenteen chilling out..

Thanks! I always love catching the snakes shedding! It's so neat to see the difference between the old skin and the new.

They are pretty intresting to say the least. Different personality type from a corn..
