What NOT to take on a roller coaster ride...

Here's what happens when you get the hair brained idea to take your videocam onto a roller coaster to try to get video footage.

When things started to go sour, my first thought was to try to protect the camera from damage. The second thought was to try to keep the camera from damaging ME! Then the third thought was the possibility of throwing the camera OUT so I could use both hands to hold onto the safety bar!

That's great! I'm torn between feeling sorry for your predicament and laughing, but the laughter's winning!

So sorry lol...

I'm with Diamondlil... I'm laughing so hard, my dog is lookin' up at me like I'm crazy lol... sorry lol... but I can't help it lol... what did u wind up doing at the end? I'm very curious lol...

Lil. :)

Thank you that was very Funny Rich. lol
Atleast you had the Guts going onto the ride. And was that adult language I hear you shout in the background?? lol

Should of tried video taping on one of those coasters where your feet dangle. Then I'd be impressed. ;)

That was great!

But I admit I felt a bit queasy just watching that - I've been afraid of roller coasters ever since I almost broke my nose on one. :shrugs:

Shouldn't your legs be more tan? Don't you live in Florida? .

Yeah, you would think so.... Living in Florida doesn't give me any more time to be outdoors in the sunshine. We have an inground pool here that we used twice last summer, and not even once the year before. And those two times last year were around midnight when we got done our chores for the day.... :bang:

I can't remember the last time I went swimming in the Gulf of Mexico, even though it is not far from here.

I hung onto the camera and put the death grip on the safety bar with one hand. That ride was fairly short but pretty wicked.

I can see how that might happen. Most amusement rides seem to trigger the "fear of death" response, which seems funny when you live through it. There were a couple of rides there that I just refused to go on. One of them in particular was a platform that got raised up to the top of a tall tower and then drops like a rock to the bottom where a magnetic brake slows it down abruptly. THAT just is not fun to me...... :eek1:

Very true - funny thing is I used to LOVE scary rides. A good few years back I went on a coaster in France, smashed my face in to the "safety" bar, and don't remember what happened for the next 10/15 mins after that. Haven't been on one since. ;)
