We feed F/T so to make up any short fall in vitamins we inject a reptile supplement into the body cavity of the mice/rats.
I always have difficulty finding syringes, I don't use many in a year, but they seem to be hard to get.
Well a mate of mine told me to go to the local needle exchange as they give them out free. I found the place and went in asked the guy for a needle and he asked me why I wanted it. I told him my story and he refused to give me any at first. He said I had to be an intravenous drug user to get them. I was livid. Sat all around me was the dregs of society getting them for free and me a tax payer, the guy who supplies all of them with there welfare/ wages couldn't get one. I told them all that fact, I was mad enough to fight the whole room if they disagreed. Well he gave me some in the end. When I opened it up sure enough there was 10 barrels , 10 needles about 20 swabs and condoms.. CONDOMS what the hell is going on here.
Well thats the end of my rant...
I feel a bit better having got that off my chest...

I don't know how it is in Wales, but it's impossible to walk into a drugstore where I live and buy a syringe without a prescription. I solved my problem by going to the local livestock store where I can buy unlimited syringes & needles without anyone batting an eye.
 
:laugh01: Mike, they were just getting you to practice safe sex. At least you got a few, when I filled in for a friend at university campus clinic we could only give one condom.:shrugs: Ditto with the feed store they have syringes and they are easy to get.

Ahhmmmmmmmmmmmmm just to clarify things... the syringes & needles are for the horse, not me :D :D :D :D
 
ahahah :) junkiiies ... my brother has a few of those lying around the house ... horrible habit
 
And to think I have a box of 100 syringes with needles sitting on my shelf. Oh yeah, I work for a vet, which makes getting stuff like that very easy and inexpensive! But as it's been mentioned, feed stores are the next best place to go for things like that. I just wouldn't buy anything that had to kept refrigerated from a feed store (vaccines are a perfect example)...they have a reputation for not unpacking or putting away those items, which in turn then go bad and are useless. Many people are also able to get insulin syringes at pharmacies without a prescription, so that is always worth a try.
 
as was already said, if you go to a livestock store, they usually have syringes and needles for injecting horses, cows, etc. It's very cheap and easy to find them there!

The 6000 mile round trip puts me off the feed store. Thanks all the same.....LOL
No I think the junkie doctor and me are now singing from the same song sheet ..LOL
I was peeved that my tax pays his wage the junkies welfare and bought the syringe and he said I couldn't have one.. And to find condoms in there as well put the tin hat on it....

Come on you know that you could use those condoms. I mean there are many uses for a condom. If they are not the "slimy" ones then you could use them for what you said before and well I guess if they are "slimy" again use them for something and have fun.

You don't have feed/farm stores in Wales?
 
Yes, but I'm not sure if you can get needles there.. We have a weird set up here You can't get needles just in case you inject drugs in your self cos that would be wrong. You can only get them from the junkie needle exchange..
This isn't a subject I'm that familiar with really. I thought if they gave them to someone who was about to commit a crime they would give them to me as I'm not doing anything wrong...

Or you could stop injecting f/t mice with vitamins. Unless they're in the freezer for months, they shouldn't lose that much nutrition. Just a thought.
