T+/T-???

R.W.

Call me Richard
I've been looking around and comparing prices and morphs form different species of python to try to get ideas for what I made want to oneday breed besides the ball pythons. One thing that I have seen, but until now have been given an explanation of, is the symbol T+ or T-. Like T+ albino and T-albino. Basicly my question is: What do these symbols mean? :dunce:please elaborate if you don't mind.:)

T+ simply means Tyrosinase positive which means the snake in question is still able to produce the enzyme essential in synthesis or production of melanin (black pigments), Albiet very "diluted". For example, a caramel albino ball python is T+ because tyrosinase is present. A yellow and white albino ball python is T- (negative) because it is missing tyrosinase.
