'08 Amber Pair Donations!!

Drizzt80

Dakota Corns
Due to Rich's generosity in providing this forum to the community, I do not need to raise any money for the subscription.

Donations will earn you a chance at this gorgeous 1.1 pair of Ambers and now also 2 Hatchling Rack from MohrSnakes (see post #34 below). The Ambers were produced in North Dakota and raised from hatchling by me until sold to Twizzy last Fall. Their current pictures will be located below.

Here are the particulars:
1. Shipping will be paid. Continental US Shipping address only!! As happened last year, those members not in the Continental US can donate chances to continental US members OR if they have someone that can ship to them from the Continental US we can work with that too.

2. Donations are closed. Thanks to all that donated!!
1 chance will equal 1 physical ticket placed “in the hat”.

3. PayPal for chances to me at: Donations are closed! Thanks!

4. I will be ending the donation process at midnight (Central time), on Tuesday, April 15th. Selection of the new owner of these Ambers and Hatchling racks will be made between 7 and 8 pm Wednesday, April 16th.

5. Shipping will be arranged between myself and the winner.

6. I will make changes as necessary to these particulars as questions/concerns arise.

Thanks for any interest. For those that care, and as was the case last year, I will not be personally making any profit on this donation.

Updated pictures of the pair are located in a post below.

Wow I can't believe it's almost been a year already.
I suppose it couldn't hurt to put myself in on this but I gotta ask the man first on the off chance I might actually win

Just a heads up, Paypal has changed their policy to NOT allow for raffles. So you can use paypal, but DON'T put the word raffle or ticket anywhere or they will void all sales. This is a recent change and it affected someone I know on another forum.

That's ridiculous, but it's okay as we're going to be making donations to a great cause. :shrugs: Use the word "Ambers" in your message please.

Well..I'm just speechless. I just got an e-mail from Brent about this and all I can say is if anyone ever says that Herp peeps aren't the best in the WORLD. They have never met some of the sweetest people I have come across on this site. I thank you all for this and Drizz you are just a big old teddy bear is all I have to say!!

My heart is breaking to part with this pair and almost all of my corns but my health has declined rapidly in the last 6 months( why I haven't been around putting my two cents in). My son just can't keep up with the care on his own.

We named them Daisy and Duke and they are the most lovely pair of Ambers. They are just so friendly and will make some of the most awesome of babies. Good luck to however wins them and just give them a great home!!

Thank you all and especially Drizz from the bottom of my heart!!

Hugs
Kimber

Wow, a year in May! That was fast!

I hopefully will get at least ten bucks in the raffle. Thanks for organizing this Brent and I hope you get better Kimber! You are in my prayers!

How about I throw a curve ball at you?

Since this forum really benefits the site and ALL of the members anyway, how about I just move it out of the personal forums section and make it a general forum? Meaning for free? So no one has to pay to keep it alive. The two moderators can remain, however, so you will still be running the show.

What say you to this offer?

Can a guy throw a curve ball sinker? Either way, great toss! I'm not going to say no to such a generous offer, but I'm left with the dilemma of having this pair of Ambers up for donation.

I'm going to keep the pair up for donations. I do not want to make a single dime on this. I've already received $40 in donations just today. Whatever comes in before the date of April 15th will pay for shipping on the pair and the balance forwarded to Kimber/Twizzy.

Thanks again Rich, and thanks to anyone that feels the urge to donate.

That is a great offer Rich and very generous. The W.I.R. does benefit all the members of CS.com. This is a great move.
Brent, count us in. I will make a payment later on this week. I wish I had seen this thread sooner. I was the winner of the inaugural raffle and I feel an obligation to keep the W.I.R. up and running. You can count us in for $20.00. Even if we don't win this year and the W.I.R. is going to be posted in the open forums it will definitely go to a good cause. Let the raffle begin....... daddy needs a new pair of shoes.... uuummmm.... snakes. ;)

OK, so which section would you like this relocated to?

The thing is, where do you "strategically" place it ? It was kind of good to have it placed down towards the bottom of the forum as it forced members/users to scroll past the other forums and have them possibly see something that catches their eye and make a post. Whereas, if the W.I.R. were placed towards the top of the forums board people may be apt to just go there to do a quick run through and not bother replying to or making new threads. Now, the W.I.R. being an open forum instead of a paid forum I think it would be best suited in the "Cornsnake Forums" placed between the "General Chit-Chat" and "Faq/Development" forums.
Just my .02, sorry it was only worth .01 :shrugs:

That was the exact positioning I thought would be best as well. As a review of the weekly posts located towards the bottom of the main boards is perfect. :)

Thanks again Rich!

This is true- here is the policy:

What gambling activities does PayPal prohibit?

PayPal prohibits the following gambling activities, even where the specific activity is lawful, unless the transactions are associated with an approved merchant.

Lottery tickets – Include the purchase or sale of any opportunity to participate in a raffle, drawing, sweepstake, pool, or any other form of game or contest involving the distribution of prizes or monetary compensation.
