'08 Amber Pair Donations!!

I try to do one good deed a year. Figured March was half over, so I'd better get to it........ Now I don't have to worry about it for the rest of the year..... :grin01:

Thank you Rick for being so kind to Drizz and Tula and helping them out with moving the forum. Iactually really enjoyed reading several of the WIR's and seeing what I've been missing for the last few months. Thanks for all your hard work guys!!!! Thank you also to all that are donating to the snakes. you all have just been making me cry like a big old baby.

Like Drizz said I will be bring them down to him on Monday when I have my next chemo treatment. I think we could do that drive in our sleep. Thanks again to all!!!!

What an amazing act on the part of Drizzt80 and Rich!

This is a total win for everyone involved. I feel compelled to donate and hope many, many others will feel the same.

It really is nothing, but thanks for the bump!

I received the pair yesteday . . . they are gorgeous!! :eek1: Tons of yellow and bigger than I remember (guess that happens when they've been fed most of a year for you!). I'm going to try to get pics today, but I have my end of season banquet for the swim team, so it may be tomorrow.

I feel compelled to donate, even though I am just hearing about whats going on. I like to help good causes, and this is beneficial (even if I don't win the ambers). When does the contest end? I am so broke right now its not even funny, we had a family emergency and I had to buy a 2day in advance plane ticket for my wife, so hopefully I can sling a snake or something, its worth it. Let me know how long I have to donate... if my time is not already up. Thanks Drizz, this is a really compelling contest, and really well thought.

I know the feeling! In response to your question:
Here are the particulars:
. . .
4. I will be ending the donation process at midnight (Central time), on Tuesday, April 15th. Selection of the new owner of these Ambers will be made before the end of that week depending on how organized I can be!
;)

Thanks!

To all visiting this thread...

I was truly touched and inspired by the outpouring of support on this site and wanted to contribute as well. I don't mind sending money but I thought I might be able to help boost the money in by donating goods instead of straight cash as I can only afford so many dollars and I really don't need another pair of ambers. ;) I've spoken with Brent and he has given me to go ahead with the plan. Without further ado....

I will be donating one complete hatchling rack to the 2nd place winner in this little drawing. That's right....COMPLETE! The unit will have trim, rubbermaids, mini water dishes, and I'm also picking up the cost of shipping! So...if you haven't donated yet to get your tickets you have yet another reason to do so. And for those canadian folks...this CAN be shipped up to you guys and I'll pickup the additional shipping charge (but you'll have to take care of customs duties and taxes if any).

Please send all donations to Brent via his email in this thread. I don't want to see the money....it all goes to him and then to Kimber. All people who have already sent money will be eligible and all new money senders will have a chance as well. You can title the payment Hatchling Rack or Ambers....doesn't really matter as it all goes in the same fund and you will be eligible to win both.

If you have no clue what a hatchling rack is, you can visit the posting in my personal forum: http://www.cornsnakes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30497

Thanks to Brent for allowing me to tag along and thank you to everyone that has been so generous so far and to all those that will send money for a great cause.

Jeff,

You are a man among men, so you are in excellent company with Brent and Rich! I don't really want a pair of ambers, but that rack would sure be nice to fill this summer :)

I get paid tomorrow and planned on sending in my donation tomorrow. I may have to up my number of chances now :)

Thank you for your generosity!

Paypal sent!

We really have some awesome people on the forum! Thanks to Brent and Jeff for their donations and kindness!

Update!

As of 11:00 pm Central time, there are 11 people that have donated (NOT counting the generosity of Jeff Mohr!!) for a total so far of $200. Thank you to those that have donated and those that have said they'll donate. It speaks well of the community here at CS.com!

I received the Ambers on Monday, and was able to snap some pics today. Here they are in all their glory! They are gorgeous and for a brief (very brief!) moment of weakness I almost cancelled the whole deal and was figuring out how to return everyone's donations!!

Here's the male:
