'08 Amber Pair Donations!!

I don't know how well I'm going to be able to keep up on a "countdown", but there are 7 days left, and so far we have $490 in donations and 603 chances towards the Amber pair and the Hatchling Rack! :eek: Great to see!

Another one sent in......kudos to Brent & Jeff (among all donating members) for the response and loyalty to a person that is basically known as a member of the forum and has probably never been personally met by 95% of the community. There may be grudges and dislikes between certain members and different forum participants.......but this right here is a perfect example of how a hobby can bring parties together for a great cause.

Kimber, remember what was said in my PM and stay strong. Thoughts and prayers are out to you and your family.......you will come through this ordeal with flying colors. Think positive.

An update (I knew I wasn't going to keep up with a daily countdown):
28 people have donated so far, NOT counting Jeff Mohr's contribution,
653 chances are going to be put toward the Ambers and the Hatchling rack . . . so far.
$530 has been donated so far.
After April 15th, ONE person will be lucky enough to get a pair of Ambers.
After April 15th, ONE person will be lucky enough to get a Hatchling rack.
After April 15th, one family will be lucky enough to get a friendly financial boost from a bunch of virtual strangers. :dancer:

There are 4 days and 2 hours and 36 minutes left to donate if you so choose.

Thank you again. I so agree with what you said we all come from different walks of life but it gives you hope for this world when you see people that are willing to even care for someone they have never met. Let alone help.

Everytime I pop on and get to read what has been posted it just makes me smile and everyones pm's have been so sweet..I'm just humbled by the guys for putting this together and to everyone for their generosity.

I won't be around for a week. I'm heading out of town again on Sunday to have some more tests done and some prep for my upcoming surgeries in May..plus they won't let me get out of there with out some chemo too. So I won't be around to hear the grand news on who won. But good luck to all and when I get back I will be anxious to see who won the Ambers and the rack.

Kimber sent me a thank you email as well, and while I'm a fairly decent "talker", I related to her and her family that I struggle dealing (in words) with illness situations, even in my own family. I never know what to say, and struggle with expressing myself in situations like this. I'm more of a "doer" when it comes to things like this. It's my coping strategy. :)
