Opal...But No Blossoms

Go Ahead, Make My Day!
I wasn't copying Topazfyre...really! I took these photos of Miakoda this past week-end and just now got a chance to post them. I sure hope she's gravid, as last year she didn't even produce a slug, even though I witnessed 2 matings, but it's a bit early to tell right now.

Oooh, she's beautiful...I just love her opalescence. She's got a lovely sheen to her! I don't know much at all about opals, but there's just something so lovely about their coloration. I really look forward to seeing one in person! :)

I swear in the second and third picture she's smiling. I always loved that angle being caught in photographs.
Here's to hoping shes all good and eggy

Beautiful Opal!

I look forward to updates on whether she's gravid, I sure hope she is for you :)

Best wishes,

Beautiful snake! Ya know, I've never seen an opal in person. I'll bet it's really difficult to capture their true colors on camera though. I'm really thinking about getting another corn...and opal is at the top of my list right now.

pretty! where'd you come up with the name? that's my little cousin's name! lol

I get many of the names for my snakes from translating websites where I put in the English word and can find that word and words with a similar meaning in many other languages. I also use naming websites where they list names from many cultures and countries and their meanings. You can also do a reverse search and find names with a certain meaning. Miakoda is a Native American name that means the power of the moon.

Miakoda is actually from the Ojibwe language if you want to get a lil more specific! :D I love it!
