Two very different cinders

Snakes in designer genes
I can't believe how different these two are. Damascus has jet black eyes with no pale iris, lots of colour tipped scales in his background colour, and quite intense overall colour. Charbray has the most amazing eyes I've ever seen on a corn with a pale head, and almost pink toned overall.

I flip-flop between them, but I think Charbray is my favourite at the moment. The jagged pupils she has are just too funky to look at ...

Charbray:

Cool! Are her pupils really jagged, or does she just have black on her irises? I for sure like paler with more grey better. She's so pretty!

Good question on the pupils, and you've reminded me of something I meant to do ages ago!

What you reminded me was that I took some over-exposed photos of Damascus before, to convince myself that he did have a functional iris in place:

You can see the iris vs. pupil there. .. so I just did the same for Charbray:

... and yeah. again you can see a round pupil, it's just that the iris isn't fully coloured, giving a jagged look. I still wonder why Damascus's eye is so different?

Sweet looking cinders! I can see why so many breeders are getting into them now. Too bad they are out of my budget:awcrap:
