Oh god the mouse I just fed off was pregnant

Corny Noob

Proud Momma
How do I know the mouse was pregnant you ask?

I went back to go get the snake to put him back in his tank, and I saw these blobs, I thought he pooped.

There were little mouse fetuses strewn about in his feeding container.
I snapped the lid shut, ran back out and told bob I needed his assistance.

I went and grabbed a pair of gloves for handling the snake. And sure enough it was a good thing that I did cause there was blood and stuff on him from slithering over the pinkies.

:puke02:I thought I was gonna hurl :puke02:

Poor pinkies. =[ Talk about giving a mouse a reason to Fight to survive. It didnt hurt the snake did it? :S

My Mary just had babies three days ago. 8 beautiful healthy pinkies. =]

Aw Jen, you poor thing. That WOULD make me hurl!
I have enough trouble when the rosy boas accidently rupture the stomachs of their thawed prey.....not a lovely sight at all!

And Robbie, just ANOTHER great reason to use frozen/thawed food!

Gross a pregnant F/T? Yuck, but JMO when you keep snakes you have to be ready and able to deal with a bit of blood and gore every now and then. I've had to cut pinky heads off, clean guts out of plastic tubs and wipe entrails off snakes. You are lucky if you have someone to do this dirty work for you, I guess.

Mmm, mouse guts. I'm cutting up pinkies for my new baby corn... It is gross looking, but the gore doesn't bother me.

Though I don't think I'd want to find them strewn all over the tank! :eek1:

Well when I worked at petco we were slicing pinkies in half for a king that eventually failed to thrive.

I guess the whole baby/fetus thing though just struck a real maternal cord with me.

But yeah when I pulled the mouse out of the bag I went, Damn this must be a retired breeder. Approx. 19g mouse my butt!

I never would have figured that it was STILL a breeder.

Bob said "but why are you getting rid of them what if he wants to eat them?" yech, he had already been in there with them for like 30 minutes.
