Soon-to-be-mine Calcifer!

Poofy-Headed Snake-Addict
I'm getting a '06 normal Kenyan Sand Boa next week from Reptile Dreams! I'm sooooooo excited! I dont know of anybody but a couple people here that have them. His name will be Calcifer, after the fire-demon/star critter in Howl's Moving Castle, one of my all-time favorite movies. The breeder sent me a photo, but he's in shed, so he looks kinda.... blue.. lol. But he seems to have the darkest orange-ish-ness out of the bunch I saw even through the shed, so I picked him. I should get him on Wednesday if everything goes as planned!

Funny thing is.... my parents dont know about him yet. :nyah: I'm 18 but I still live at home. Plus, my dad is afraid of snakes. :grin01:

Then I won't post what I was thinking about putting him under your dad's pillow. ;)

He's very pretty, though. Where is this place? Near IN or is he being shipped to you?

He's being shipped from Florida, actually. we are hoping for good temperatures on both ends for shipping. right now its pretty hot there.

I hope the weather holds out for you. It's supposed to be much cooler this weekend. I have fish to ship, so I'm hoping monday is awesome.

He's just so cute. How could your dad not love him? ;) How 'bout your mom? Is she a snake fan?

thanks! My dad doesnt even like Jazz, my baby butter corn. :crying: My mom is ok with them, but she doesnt want more in the house. :grin01: So they havent exactly been informed yet. And I have no idea, how they cant like him! He's just too cute to not be liked! :madeuce:

Well... these sand boas can always pass as "really cool worms" or something, tell your father it's a skink or a worm :sidestep:

What your parents don't know doesn't hurt them... This is the philosophy I live by...

Beautiful little boa! Love the name! Howl's Moving Castle is by far one of my favorite movies also, but I love all anime.:D

Not to sound like a naysayer here on this but this isn't cool. You gotta respect your parents and the house. They are allowing you to live there and you are moving out in a few years or sooner. But still its their home and they pay the bills.

I think its a great snake but I think you need to mature up a bit and talk to them as an adult on this. Don't play on your Dad's fear try to help him get over it. Eventually with you working with your father will ease the fear. Its baby steps.

I will say its a beautiful snake and good luck with it.
