Pictures of my Uro..

tricksterpup

I has nuttin to Say.
Ok folks, I got this guy a few years ago, he was badly dehydrated and thin. We did not think he was going to make it. We fostered him and then got him from our herp society.
I keep him on a bed of Rabbit Pellets.

He is going into shed. We pulled off that piece of skin off his nose.

I like the natural light shots, he has such an allert look to him! Though I still stand by my observation that he looks like a potbellied old man in that first picture!

Very nice! What kind is he? Are you sure he's a male?? I can't wait to get mine...

LOL he is a potbellied pig.
When I first got him, he was scary skinny. We had to give this guy water baths every day for a week to get moisture into him.
After that, he started to perk up and has been doing well since then.

Aww Uro's are one of those pets that are so ugly they're cute...and yours looks like a sweetie and it's great you rescued him. Whats his name ? :)

He's absolutely adorable! I love Uros :D I also fostered one for the local herp society a few years ago. It didn't take long for him to find a house... they are such neat little critters. I've always wanted another one (or 3) since. Glad to see he's doing well for you!

So is this one that might end up staying for a while?

He is a male and he is a Uromastyx. I am not sure what sub species he is. I know he is not an Egyptian. Those are as big as cats. lol

He looks alot like a Mali, but I'm not too good at identifying Uros. He has the right shape, though alot of the Malis tend to have bright colors. Still, could've been due to the condition that you got him in.

He's still precious though!

You are right, he is a mali, and his colors are typically brighter but he is starting to shed.

Yay I got one thing right! So have you named him yet? Thats usually the 1st step to keeping a foster child. :grin01:

So why do you find Uros so especial? Is it the way they behave? Look? What?
(PS: I'm not saying they are not especial! I'm just curious to know if there is something else besides the few facts I do know about them) :)

After those pics, do you know how bad I'm wanting a Uro now?! Maaaaatt! Get off your butt and finish my rack so I have more room for a Uro!!!
