Science marches on

I wasn't trying to be condescending, it was a joke, I just never added the emoticons to make it clear. I agree with your philosophies, and really like that someone can separate religion and spirituality. There are many philosophies that inspire people to live a more positive life, and that's really what religion should be about. It should make people feel humble, and not entitled, like somehow their religion gives them more importance.
Well said Michael.

And I don''t think you were being condescending. You should have read enough of my posts by now to know I love to joke around.
Whether it's you setting me up for a good one, or me setting you up for a good one.
Sometimes I am being funny, or trying to, and completely forget the emoticons. :D ;)

I do not hand out questionnaires on belief systems to prospective friends, on the forum or in real life, that you have to get a certain score on.
And I am certain that there are those who have extended friendship to me even though I am very different than them, on the forums and in real life.
:poke:

As someone who has spent his life's work trying to show his clientele how data is abstracted, this is a thing of beauty. I can't thank you enough!

Out of curiosity, what led you to this?

Dale
First, I love your new avatar. I like Stevie and all, but something about his frozen open-mouthed shriek was unsettling. This one of your dog is very engaging.

Well, I like to fiddle around and make my own wallpapers, and a little over a year ago I googled images for a tidy, colorful looking periodic table of the elements. There are a lot. But I saved a couple of images to fool with. And as I was looking more closely, I saw the "Periodic Table of the Internet", which I thought was pretty cool and interesting. And as I looked even more closely, I saw the one on "Visualization Methods". I must admit although I understand the principle of it, I recognize/grasp only bits and pieces of its detail, but I still saved it....for future study.
Well last night I had that "Aha! Moment" when I realized if you did not have it, I would gift it to you, Dale. It is so "you". You are probably the only person (or one of a few) that I know who would recognize it and understand it for what it really was.

Man...I thought I had my own major find! Guess my skimming skills aren't up to par...
Oh, I would have been blabbing about it, too.

It's my understanding from doing more reading that the scientific community is hoping to simmer down the media blitz/carnival/freakshow,....that the media is prone to do. *rolls eyes*

Right now on the History Channel is Monsterquest : Sasquatch Attack II, then the Mayan Doomsday Prophecy. Just sayin'...... :roflmao:

Anyone who has kept and bred Burmese pythons...

and who has seen them in the wild down in the 'Glades, will know EXACTLY what you mean when you talk about the media and sensationalizing the news!

Kathy, in the wild down in the 'Glades,...do you mean pythons, Sasquatch/Skunkie, or the media...???
(I do believe the media has scales and crawls on its belly.)

Kind of forgot about Sasquatch, lol!

The pythons REALLY are down there - can't say whether ol' Sassy is there, though! The pythons are often more commonly found than rat snakes, corns, or kings in the 'Glades. But, the individuals encountered are typically around 4 - 7' or so (although really big ones are found on occasion), and are not known for strangling tourists, not even mean little kids!
