HEY EVERYONE, I REALLY WANT TO HAVE MY FIRST BREEDING THIS YEAR AND ID REALLY LIKE TO HAVE A PAIR OF 06' OR 05' ADULT CORN SNAKES (MALE AND FEMALE). Define low price. You're not going to be able to get a proven pair for less than $100. Heck, that might not even cover the male. And you're 15, so most (reputable) breeders are going to want to talk to your parents before they'll even consider selling to you.
 
I'm afraid you are going to need alot more money than that. For a pair of proven adults plus shipping you are talking at least 250 probably more.
 
i gave some away and some were nonfeeders and returned them.
the bad thing is i got them from petco, for many of those years, not knowing why i should start with breeders, i then got a snake from a breeder, and it lived for way longer and stayed very healthy but ended up escaping. so now im sticking with breeders.

I'll read these again and see if I can come up with an answer for you...
 
How are you going to sell the offspring. You can't get a table at a show until your 18, you can't get a fedex account until your 18, and I may be wrong, but even a paypal account requires a linked bank account which at your age you don't have unless its in yours and your parents name. People don't want to deal with sending a money order for the most part, and you can't count on locals buying all your offpring either. Also, if you don't even have the money for a decent pair of adult breeders how will you afford feeders, an additional rack, incubation supplies, 20+ shoeboxes, extra aspen, water bowls, UTH's, thermostats, hides, and shipping supplies?

I know your eager and thats good, but think this out and plan ahead. Raise the snakes you have up now in the meanwhile slowly accumulting the necessities for breeding. Unless you have $2,000 right now to spend on these things no matter your snakes age and size you won't be responsibly breeding this year anyway:)
 
i have a lot of friends looking for snakes, and i prefer pick up, i know im not at the right age, but that doesnt mean anything, i know alot about keeping snakes. im just new to BREEDING. ill just buy another 08' and wait until 2011 to come and continue doing research.
 
Slow down young buck no one has criticized you at all:) We're pointing out issues a lot of people even adults don't think about first to be helpful:)

No one is criticizing you.. Good that you can make money, and you have likely found the best deals here that you can just going by the responses..

You might look at Craigslist or other sites near your area for people selling their snakes there....

Like the OP said... Age shouldn't come into it... Understanding the situation is the key, and you got that in spades my friend.... ;)
