Moellendorff's are BEAUTIFUL snakes, and ones I'd love to own someday, but they are still very new to the pet trade. Unfortunately, most of the specimens currently available are only wild caught, and don't thrive in captivity. They're definitely not a beginners snake by any means, they will die at least 80% of the time. If you can find a captive bred one, it's going to cost you a very pretty penny, and there is still a huge chance it won't even make it past it's first year. All in all, it's not a species I'd currently recommend at the moment.
