Hey rich.. I obtained a very nice corn snake.. its a peach hypo lavender striped blood corn... named peaches.. shes about 5 months and was wondering wat type of corn I should mate it with later.. any ideas

Hi, you are highly recommended to me as the sharpest person near me to ask about a common problem. (I'm in Queens NY) I've adopted a rescue corn snake from hurricane Sandy. It's very young, probably 11 inches long, a lot like a garter snake. He's hand tame, active, drinks his water, has defecated, has a 10 gallon tank with 3 hides in 3 different temp zones, etc. No mites, no bony ridges, etc. After 4 days of leaving him to get settled I tried a deli cup feed with a pinky to no avail. I'm trying again in about 5 days. While I've had snakes I've never had young snakes and I've never had corns so I'm feeling out of my depth. Any advice on getting this guy to feed would be appreciated. (I'm using thawed pinkies. Not live.) If you can find the patience to deal with my common newbie question I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

Hi Rich! I borrowed Mystery from Dave P a little while ago for a breeding project, and I liked him so much that he's staying here. He's got to be my 3 year old niece's favorite snake. He gets plenty of handling time, and loves to hang out around my neck while I'm watching TV. Just thought you might like an update on your buddy.

I purchashed a male striped blood from you and bred him to a Pewter. I can't remember if you said he was ph anery or het anery. The clutch can out 50/50 blood red and anery blood. While I realize it is very possible that these are anery A I was wondering if there is a chance of them being anery B. Would appreciate your feedback. There is a photo of one of the the "offending" babies in the morph forum. Thanks for your time.

Hi Richard, I purchased a pair of Striped Fire Cornsnakes from Don at SMR that were from your stock. They are Really Nice and doing GREAT! I have seen many post with pics of your snakes and WOW, you produce some GREAT looking animals!!!!

So I ended up putting down 3 non-feeders (because 1 died after I left them with a snake sitter that didn't do hand feeding even though 'they' told me they could...>_<!!). Final count: 11 babies ~ 1 hypo bloodred stripe (very cool), 2 bloodred stripes (a pair too), 7 bloodreds (including the hernia baby), and one non-feeding bloodred stripe (ate live once and not since). All het anery some het hypo.
I am very excited for future ghost blood stripes (You have any photos of those kicking around from your collection)?! And I have had nothing but great comments on their diffusion. I owe that to you of course ^_^

Happy Birthday Rich!

Breeding was female blood het stripe (from you ) to a male granite het stripe. Results were: 4 bloodred stripes, 1 possibly hypo bloodred vanishing stripe (it's pink so I am not sure what it is XD) and 9 healthy bloodreds. There is another bloodred that still needs to absorb his yolk sac (it's about the size of a gourmet jelly bean). He's sitting on a wet papertowel in a cup within the larger clutch container. I hope he's does ok
There were 2 DIE and both were stripes too. One looks like it died maybe 3 or 4 days ago with a full yolk sac, the other probably 1-2 weeks ago (mold got that one from the dead egg connection ).
Wow stripes eh! I wonder which are het. anery now :laugh:
