Moving up

Hiya my Sharon is 6 months old and currently fed 4x pinkies a week. She devours these in a few minutes. She’s growing and shedding well but I just don’t know when to move her into fuzzies. I need to buy food next weeks I this is the ideal time to change her up.
I don’t know if she will need two fuzzies or one fuzzy and a couple of pinkies?
I read conflicting things online so just wanted to ask you guys.
Thanks 😊

Four pinkies in one sitting is an extremely unusual feeding schedule. Typically people start at one, sometimes move to two, but then move to fuzzies after that. Pinkies have very little nutrition, so it's best to get them off of pinkies as soon as you can. If she's eating 4 successfully, she will easily be able to handle a fuzzy. I would also recommend getting a cheap digital kitchen gram scale and weighing her. If you can get back to me with her weight, I can help pinpoint the best feeder and schedule for her.

Thank you for your reply. I’ve read such conflicted advice. I have already purchased some fuzzies. Sharon is 41g. Thanks again for your help. I believe 2 might be best for her?

At 41 grams, a single fuzzy every 5 to 7 days will be perfect. She can move to hoppers once she hits 50 grams. I wouldn't feed double prey at all at this point.

Thanks SO much for your help! Sharon are a fuzzy immediately and I will give her one every 5 days. Your advice is very much appreciated!

Oh I wanted to ask: the reptile shop has small frozen mice 7-14 grams after the fuzzies. Are they suitable once Sharon is over 50g? Thanks

That's a pretty big range, so I would separate them based on their weight. I consider fuzzies to be anything from 7-9 grams, hoppers 9-12 grams (once she hits 50 grams), and then weanlings 14-20 grams (once she's around 100 grams)

Thank you for the detailed explanation. That makes things a whole lot easier!
