First Blue Phase
Hello! My first corn snake has gone into his first blue phase today. I’ve had him less than a month. I’ve got a humid moss hide for him.
Approximately how long will it take for him to fully shed his skin now that he has started the process? Thank you. |
How old is he? Babies tend to have a faster shed phase, and adults tend to take a bit longer. I'd say the average is about 10 days? After the blue phase, he'll go into a 'clear' phase, so don't be surprised when he looks normal again but you can't find a shed! He'll shed a day or two after the clear phase.

He was 3-4 months old when I got him, according to what I was told. I haven’t been able to measure him yet but I’d guess he’s a little over a foot long. He weighs 13 grams.
I’m looking forward to him shedding. I want to send it out for DNA testing to confirm the gender. Thanks for the info! |
Cute! Yup, he looks very blue! I've done the DNA testing. It's a neat service.

Is he/she a anery tessera? I like the odd head stamp.
BTW, Olivia is right on the mark with the shedding info. |
Very blue! We look forward to seeing your baby in bright new skin soon.
