  • Just jumping in to add that "amel" is short for "amelanistic" which another term for albino :) So you have an albino (also sometimes called "red albino") corn snake. And a very pretty one!
    Your cornsnake is an amel. You might get about $25 for him or her unless she's het for anything and you wouldn't know since your friend was not a breeder. They are pretty common but amel was the first morph I ever owned and the father of my very first clutch of babies! Your snake won't be upset if you don't hold him or her all the time.....they don't really care. Nice thing about snakes. You might see if a school biology class would like it for their classroom. I gave my amel to a teacher in Illinois and he still lives in a huge, two story cage there teaching kids about how cool snakes are.
