Palmetto genetics

I'm so confused. I read on one site that this dominant, then on another it is recessive? I read that it is either they visually show the gene but can be either a het or homogeneous but still visually show it, then one another site I read it can be het but not always show visually.

What is it really? Dominant, incomplete dominant or recessive?

Can they be het and not visually show the gene?

Would really like a genetics nerd to clear this up for me. lol

It's currently considered incomplete dominant. You still need two copies of the gene (homozygous) for the snake to look Palmetto. Having a single copy of the gene (heterozygous) creates a somewhat hypo-like appearance. Does that clear it up?

Here's the morphpedia article for further reading: https://www.morphmarket.com/morphped...akes/palmetto/
