Carpe Serpentis
Interesting side note is that any snake with ultra in it also has grey rat snake in its mix. Still, how many people know what percent grey rat their snake with the ultra gene has? Does it really matter? http://iansvivarium.com/morphs/ultra...19ce26259f33fd

It's never been proven - it's just down to what you believe. The originator of the Ultra gene has never been able to give a definitive answer. Don S believes that it derives from Grey Rats but I think the last discussion here had Rich Z down as unconvinced.

... Post #192 from Rich Z here pretty much sums it up:
http://www.cornsnakes.com/forums/sho...=120832&page=5

And if you can face wading through some history, this is the oldest discussion about Ultra here, from 2004:
http://www.cornsnakes.com/forums/sho...ighlight=Ultra

Even back then, ithe origins of Ultra were nowhere near cut-and-dried.

Well I guess hybrids matter a lot to some people - as you can see from the links I posted, it's rarely a short discussion and there's never a consensus. Personally I like your approach.

I mean, percentages don't matter to me as long as you can at least state what species went into it.
