okay thanks, I will just have to rub it on one of our pet mic. I breed pet mice because the small pet store near me only has live white feeder mice, so if ppl want a colored mouse they come to me.I dont make money doing this, I just like to make ppl happy.

But I will try rubbing it on one of our mice, I just dont have any babies right now, I'm not going to plan on having them untill september.

ok my corn snake still wont eat...nothing I do can trigger her to eat....her last meal was a pinkey mouse on july 8th....she is getting thinner by the day, I mean thin....she is still active but only in my hand when I hold her.....she wont go on the warm end of her tank any more and only stays on the cool end.....what do I do....can anyone help....the person I got her from was really rude and would not help, in fact he just said I'm not ready for a snake....This is just the only problem snake I have, and I cannot get her to eat at all....does any one have ideas besides tune juice, rubbing on a live rodent, slitting brain and back, and covering up at night in a container w/ the muse....I cant seem to find any live pinkey mice any where that I buy and try to offer that to her.....will she be okay untill August 1st when I can go to a reptile expo and buy live pinkey mice, but how do I keep pinkey mice alive?

I hope that cobra will live, she is my favorite little girl. She is sub-adult, but only as wide as a baby

u feed on th 1/17 then the 1/19, i think thats too quick because your suppose to let the food digest for 3-4 days and your feeding on the 3rd day so i would asume that why he/she regurged is because there is another food item in its intestine and canot accomidate 2 mice.

Hi all… I am am excited to be a new member of this forum. I have been taking my preteen/teen boys to reptile shows when they are in our town. In mid September we found a gorgeous girl at the show and are first-time snake owners.
The previous owner had bred her once and it didn't go well, so she sold her as a pet-only. Her temperament is fabulous and we LOVE her already. But I am worried. Supposedly she was very easy to feed, frozen/thawed, just placed on a paper towel.
We gave her 4-5 days to adjust to her new home, then offered her a mouse. After offering one every few days with no luck, she shed. So again I waited. It's been almost 6 weeks and I am concerned. I can see a difference in her, she is thinner.
About 10 days ago, we bought a larger terrarium, added a lamp and heated to a high around 90 and a low about 75 and put a hide in with her. Still, not eating. Any thoughts? suggestions?

Your post gave the answer away: the lamp is not good for corns, they need belly heat for digestion. Use a UTH with a thermostat attached, and set the temp to 87°. This will give the low side an average of about 75°, and the top of the substrate on the warm side about 85°. She will choose where she is most comfortable which is why you need at least one hide on each end plus smaller hides in the middle. Smooshed toilet paper rolls half buried in the substrate are favorites of my littlest ones.

The lamp can also dry out the viv making it harder to shed and corns aren't day snakes, they prefer the dark, so just the room light during the day is fine, at night just turn out the lights. If you do want to watch her at night, it is okay to turn the room lights on, or use LEDs.

Try it with the UTH and thermostat, I'll bet anything she will eat within a few days. with the belly heat.

Oh, and welcome to the forum! There is a welcome post at the top for newbies to introduce themselves and their snakes, and we LOVE pics! If you have a question, it is best to post a new thread for it unless you can find the answer through the "search" button, otherwise it is considered "hijacking" someone's thread! If you have something to add to the original conversation, by all means, put in your 2 cents worth, but some questions never get answered because they are in the middle of someone else's post! We won't torture and maim you THIS time, but the second time...

Enjoy your time here, you will learn an incredible amount of information from both breeders and keepers, some new and some with 40 years experience. I prefer that kind of advice over the kid at Petco saying "that corn is $89 because it is a 'fancy' corn". (no such thing, they label them that to jack up the prices!)

And again, off topic (my turn this time!) I named a stray cat I found in our casino's parking lot "Amy"! She came with a surprise gift for us, after two weeks she gave us 5 perfect, sweet, beautiful kittens! Amy worships the ground my husband walks on, they are inseparable!
