My hatchling just ate her 1st pinky today and I've had a bit of difficulty getting her to eat. I noticed that when I tried feeding her a live pinky she WOULD NOT go near it! I left it with her over night..and the pinky was still there...I couldnt brain it alive..so I fed it to my boyfriends red tailed boa. Tonight she would not go near the whole pinky (thawed) so I cut the pinky in 3 pieces (read it from one of the forums here). I would try cutting a thawed out pinky in 3 pieces and try again. My snake finally ate! The only problem is that he ate an anole, not a pinky. Im going to try to scent the next 2 or 3 pinkies with an anole and then hopefully he just doesnt need the smell anymore. I'm very excited but lets hope for no regurge. Since this guy has been such a pain so far I wouldn't be surprised.
Oh and seeing your first snake eat for the first time is the coolest thing ever.
