Sex of Corn Snake Owners: Do Girls out number Boys.

I cannot make this thing do two separate categories (computer illiterate), so I'll have to make two posts.

Let's see who out numbers who on having corn snakes as pets? Boys? Or Girls?

Talking No, I'm not bored.

Actually, I'm too busy to be on the computer most of the time, but this forum is as addictive as corn snakes themselves.

I guess I just can't shake off the Anthropologist in me. Within cultures, you have sub-cultures, like bikers, bingo players, punks, hippies, cowboys, and so forth one can find inside the American culture especially. Even within these sub-cultures, one can find further divisions. For example: corn snake only people within the sub-culture of reptile lovers.

This forum has brought together a group of individuals who love corn snakes. Without it, we would be virtually unknown to each other. In fact, this forum is responsible for creating the sub-culture of which we are members. The Corn Snake Forum = The Corn Snakes Owner's Guild. It raises questions in my mind, like:
What other characteristics do we share in common? (physical features/alterations, political views, religious practices, economic pursuits); What is the male-to-female ratio? (Who is more likely to be a corn snake owner? Males? Females?); What is the bell curve regarding age of corn snake owners?

My hypothesis is: the typical corn snake owner is going to be a Male between the ages of 26 and 37, followed by Females between the ages of 15 and 30. I find it interesting also to read the history and herstory about how one got into corn snakes, and when, and how long they've been involved with corn snakes.
It tests another hypothesis I have in my mind, but for which I haven't formulated a question. That is, Rich, Kathy, Don, and one or two others have been breeding corns for decades. However, I feel that, for most of us, being involved with and raising corn snakes is a relatively new interest/obsession that began only a few years ago. I would love to be able to hear from Rich, or Kathy, to determine if they have noticed an increase in interest over the years. It may indicate some trend, fear, concern, or change in thought within the greater culture.

Bored? No, being from another planet and having been left abandoned here by my parents when I was an infant, I'm just curious about the group to which I belong and this new world around me.

ok lemme seeeeeeeeeeeeee.....

physical features/alterations? Hmmm not sure Unless you all look like a "fluffy" housewife and mother But we are going back to that fact you are special again Gregg

Political views? WellI guess I could be considered a neo-libral but since i never vote and I just ignore all the lise spewing from the polititions mouth i guess I have no real view. I do like George W Bush though. There is something in his eyes that makes me want to trust him. And when the leader of the free world crys on TV infront of millions of people; you know he is either whacked in the head or really a damn good person.

religions pratices? I was born and raised Southern Babtist. WHen I actually started to understand what was going on in the church and what was written in the Bible I had to look elsewear. I tried many churches out and and many religions and could not find one I could believe in. There was soo much hypocrecy and politicle BS and Un-Answerd questions that I wasnted to give up God all together. So instead I just gave up religion. I could be called a spirtualist somewhere between a Druid and a Native American. Except I dont own any casinos

economic pursuits? Yes I do pursue money

What is the male-to-female ratio? Well I think in this forum there are more guys than girls.

Who is more likely to be a corn snake owner? Males? Females? Actually there are more females owing reptiles and amphibians that males. I have been told this in many ways. I have no fact though

What is the bell curve regarding age of corn snake owners?
I think Males between 16-40
Females 15-35

Well dems my answers

occupation would be another interesting one, as would college major....especially since a lot of people end up doing something completely different than what they studied.

I was a biology/history major until I started working in the computer industry...now I'm too busy trying to make enough money to keep my mini zoo and myself alive and well. I play video games and watch movies for a living (a lot harder than you think, it gets tedious) so I'm nowhere near what my initial studies were as far as work goes. I love to research stuff and go see various historical sites (1 day in the British Museum was not enough time) and puzzling out genetics of the critters I keep and some that I don't.

Religion....now there's a hell of a topic (pun intended). I follow more of a spiritualistic view on life like Silvertounge. I don't mind all the rest unless attempts to shove various beliefs down my throat occurs. Then out come the history books and a few fossil samples.

I ain't touching politics.

Physical features - only child, practically grew up on horseback. Always been active, so I'm in the 140 lb range myself at 5'8".

There be plenty of younguns on here, which is somewhat suprising to me given that a lot of pet stores/breeders will not sell to a minor unless they have parental consent (or the parent present)
