Cork Wood

I picked up a tube of cork wood at a reptile expo today. I used a stiff dry brush on it and a few ants came off. Since I donít know what other little critters might be living inside, would a spray disinfectant like chlorhex or baking it be the best way to clean it? Thanks

I would bake it. The porosity means it souks be very difficult to get to every place a bug or a pathogen could hide. It would likewise be difficult to ensure that any cleaning products were 100% gone. Baking it will eliminate the potential undesirable things in a way that's absolutely safe for your snake.
