Payback

I feel terrible. I forgot to feed Melody for EIGHT DAYS. I looked at the log I'm keeping of her feeding and almost screamed. I immediately got the mice and she ate it FAST. I cut up the second one and fed her the part where the most guts were. When it was almost in her throut, she stopped. Some guts spilled out onto her scales as she continued to eat. Then she WIPED THE GUTS ON MY HAND.

I guess it was fair payback for sort of neglecting her, but it was SO GROSS.

Just wanted to share.

8 days? Is that a long time? Lol
I've had snakes "kill" slit mice before and send intestines all over me and the floor. Ick

Vetusvates: I guess I'm not fond of her kind of affection. :/

AliCat: I just sorta freaked out because it was three days late. Not too bad, but I was mad I messed up the feeding schedule. And that sounds gross!

Feeding

So many people get caught up into feeding schedules for there snakes,in the wild they don't feed on any schedule and they do fine. I think that a lot of pet cornsnakes are being overfed

Yeah, most of the time. She doesn't like the feeding bin a lot and it's more fun.

8 days isn't so long ^_^ some of mine get fed every 5-7 days when I feel like it, my overweight boy gets fed when I look at the calender and think 'hmm, he hasn't had food in a few weeks, I should probably think about giving him something'. Like stephen said they don't have a schedule in the wild, does them no harm to mix it up a bit.

The guts bit is kind of gross though, I think mouse guts STINK!!
